Join us for a refresher course on volunteering at the Center.Who: Volunteers, 18+, members only

Topic: Working with Difficult People and De-escalation Skills
Do you ever struggle to find the right words when talking to a prickly person? Have you ever wondered how to get that "one" volunteer to actually fulfill their job requirements? Have you ever been faced with someone who just won't seem to calm down? Come learn how: to calm a situation, remove someone quietly from the building, ask someone to do something in a positive affirming manner so that the person is excited to do their duties, and much more! We will be giving you reference sheets as well as role playing to practice the skills.

Stay up to date on new policies and procedures, learn about new opportunities, and freshen up your skills.
Volunteers are the backbone of the Center for Sex Positive Culture. None of the events at the CSPC could take place without the commitment of our volunteers.
Each 5th Thursday and 5th Sunday, the Volunteer Team will revisit a familiar topic and update volunteers on any new developments.
Here are a few topics we will cover:
- Duties and Responsibilities of each Staff Position
- Rules and Etiquette to follow and model
- How to train a Shadow
- How to make sure your hours are counted
- Emergency procedures
All Volunteers are expected to attend a refresher course at least once per year. Every volunteer who attends the Volunteer Refresher Course will receive a 2 hour volunteer credit for their participation.
