The Mission of the CSPC Volunteer team is to inspire and assist volunteers to produce experiential events where members can explore their sexual interests in a physically and emotionally safe environment.

Our Vision is an energized and enthusiastic Volunteer Team, and an atmosphere in which all members feel that they can contribute to the organization.

The Center for Sex Positive Culture exists because we have members who give their time and energy to make the events happen. Volunteering is the cornerstone of our community culture and the reason why this organization continues to thrive. We are fortunate to have a place like this available to us and it needs people like you to help support its success.

To wrap up 2013 I've got a great bunch of volunteers to highlight as the December Volunteers of the Month. Our volunteers have done a great job in 2013 and I'm as honored as ever to work with such a great group. All of your contributions are noticed and appreciated. I'd like to make special mention of a few in particular but before I get to that, I want to thank everyone who volunteered in December. It can be a complicated time with holidays, weather, and other seasonal complications. Each and every one of you who were able to keep us going in December are especially appreciated. Now for the volunteers and party of the month.

Event Volunteer of December: Bev! Bev is one of our long time volunteers that leaves smiles on the faces of people she works with. In particular though she has done some great work with two events. On the Market is a great event for meeting new people at the Center. It has gone through some revisioning and has become more vibrant than ever. Additionally she has started up the Game Night. Thanks for all your help Bev!

Non-Event Volunteer of December: Slush! Slush has been extra valuable this month. There isn't enough time and space to list all the amazing help he has provided. Thanks for going over and above the call of duty to step in and deal with it all so gracefully. Thanks for stepping up so much Slush!

Behind-the-Scenes Volunteer of December: Rose! Rose has been helping out behind the scenes with writing projects for the past few months. This has been a great help by taking a couple things off my shoulders. I've also gotten great feedback on her ghost writing. I have been blessed to have her on the team. Thanks Rose!

Party of December: The Hump! This year Christmas landed on a Wednesday, the day The Hump holds their weekly party. The holidays are sometimes complicated for people and it showed great dedication of The Hump team to volunteer and hold a great party, even over the holiday. The Hump is also just a really great event with a really great team in general. Every week they coordinate their staff and run a wonderful sex positive party. Thanks for all you do Hump Team!

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the leadership and administration of the Volunteer Team. This includes recruitment and training of new volunteers, continuing education and training, the creation of staff lists for events, the creation of a monthly calendar where volunteers can sign up for shifts, the tracking and totaling of hours worked, the assignment of volunteer status based on the number of hours worked, a monthly report to the CSPC Board of Directors, and cooperation with FSPC Staff and the FSPC Board of Directors to facilitate a congenial relationship between volunteers of the two organizations.
The Volunteer Coordinator also maintains the Volunteer Manual, and oversees all procedures related to volunteering, as well as a mailing list for communication with the volunteers.
The VC is responsible for communication with the volunteers on a regular basis - including responding to questions, clarification of rules and procedures, conflict resolution and corrections, when necessary.
The VC reports directly to the Executive Director, as a representative of the Volunteers of the CSPC and their interests. This is an unpaid volunteer position.
