CSPC EVENTS

News From the Board - Event Staffing and Cancellation Policy

The Center for Sex Positive Culture is created for us, by us! We rely on ourselves, as volunteers, to create and run the events we would like to see. If this is news to you, please take a moment to reflect on this fact.

It takes a large number of volunteers working together to create events that run smoothly and are enjoyable for everyone. At the November Board Meeting, the Board formally passed a motion to implement the following policy. It is intended to facilitate adequate event staffing, in an organized, sustainable, and equitable manner.

Beginning January 1, 2025:

  • 72 hours before the start of an event, if the following volunteer roles have not been filled, a final notice and request to fill these roles will go out to the Volunteer Google group and the Discord Volunteer group:

    • Opening EC, Closing EC, NMO Leader, Opening Registration, Middle Registration, and at least one Monitor for both the First and Second shift

  • Any event that does not have all of these volunteer shifts filled within 48 hours of the start of the event, will be canceled. Ticket holders will be issued a coupon code for use at a future event.

  • If key volunteers cancel their shifts within that 48 hour period, we will do our best to find replacements, or alternatively, fill in using staff who are already signed up. We will not cancel events with less than 48 hours notice unless there is an emergency reason outside of the scope of this policy.

  • No one should sign up in advance for more than one of these essential shifts per event. No one should be expected to volunteer more than is comfortable and sustainable for them. No one will be pressured by leadership or other volunteers to take on a volunteer shift.

Questions or concerns about this policy should be directed to HRdirector@thecspc.org and/or EventsDirector@thecspc.org.

The Frolic 2024

T-Minus 19 Days | What You Need to Know

We’re a couple weeks away from a week of engaging activities, explorative classes, and intimate social spaces! Thank you to everyone that came out to the Pre-Frolic 411 last night.

Here’s a recap of the FAQ:

  • We have 40 tickets left for sale! Click here for The Frolic landing page.

  • We are sold out of In/Out parking privileges. Buying car camping parking to supplement this need is not permitted.

  • Car camping spots are designated for folx who are sleeping inside their car, pop ups on their car, or an extension off of their vehicle. It is not for folx that want to set up a tent next to or near their car. There is limited ground space in these designated spots.

  • Upon arrival: Have the gate code ready! Provided in the digital “Welcome Packet.” You’ll check-in at the centrally located Registration station (obtain parking pass if applicable), and tour the venue to find a campsite (map provided on-site). If you have a vehicle, unload but do not start setting up. Drive to your designated parking area and take the shuttle back to Registration.

    • If you have not received the secondary registration email that contains the digital “Welcome Packet,” email frolicregistration@thecspc.org. Tip: Look for subject line [ACTION REQUIRED] THANK YOU FOR REGISTERING FOR THE FROLIC 2024

  • Want to unplug? Education and entertainment schedules will be posted around the venue and an announcement board will be centrally located.

  • Tips for CPAP: It is a first come, first serve limited camping space. You are advised to bring an outdoor extension cord as we are pulling electricity from a nearby building. You are not permitted to use this electricity for any other electronic devices unless they are medically necessary.

  • Tip for Pickup Play: Compile an “About Me and Interests” that you can print and bring with you to post near the Pickup Play Board. We’re offering a whiteboard for communal usage but your “handwritten post” has the potential to be erased over the course of the week.

  • Active CSPC Members can access the Discord server to start conversations early about camping, classes/activities, carpooling, and pickup play! Have your member number ready for verification.

  • There is a communal charging station centrally located at the venue located in the building labeled “The Shire.” The map is provided in your camp booklet that is provided at the time of check-in.

  • Take a peek at the Camp Schedule and Menu before coming to camp. We have a potable water source but we do recommend folx bring their own water if they’re not comfortable drinking water from a hose. The venue is located 15 minutes from several grocery stores and 5 minutes from the closest gas station.

  • We’re implementing an option for privacy for the outdoor showers this year. There is only one indoor bathroom and that is designated for ADA and VIP only!

  • And yes, a ground-level pool and patio hot tub are open during certain hours. Clothing optional!

  • Remember to sign up for your required 3-hour Community Service shift! Email froliccommservice@thecspc.org if you need assistance.

As a reminder: every attendee is required to watch The Frolic Orientation and complete the quiz; this includes any plus-ones. If this is not completed before check-in, folx will be required to watch this at Registration before being permitted into the camp. This takes 30 minutes so we highly recommended completing this before August 6!

Mask Up Get Down!

Hello Friends!

My name is Carter and I am one of the hosts for the Mask Up Get Down! It is happening TOMORROW, July 19. Our theme for this party is Summer Fever, and dressing up is encouraged, but not required. If you are someone who enjoys getting to know others, you will be excited to join our Hot and Heavy speed meeting. If you have been one of the folks who has been missing masked parties, I STRONGLY encourage you to come and check us out. If you are someone who has been missing parties in general, and want to play and socialize more, come on out.

All play allowed under house rules is fair game. Some considerations: N95 or KN95 masks are required, but can be secured at the registration desk. We will have quite a bit of additional air filtration; if that is a concern do not fret! Parking/transit is going to be HECTIC (Chappell Roan is in Cap Hill this weekend) so bake in a little bit of extra getting-around time.

And remember to have fun, no matter what you’re doing this weekend, but I hope I see you here!!

F'in Precious!

Have you ever looked at a big, foofy diaper-butt or a kinky kitten and thought to yourself, “SO. F’ING. PRECIOUS!” Well, this is the party for you!

F’in Precious is an 18+ party featuring ageplay and petplay-appropriate activities and music! We set out to make a fun and inviting space specifically for littles, pets, caregivers, handlers, primals, and furries - whatever your interest, everyone is welcome! This is a space for people of all gender expressions, sexual orientations, and styles of play to feel comfortable being themselves.

GRIND REBOOT IS COMING IN JULY!

by Teeebone

This year, the CSPC is celebrating its 25th Anniversary and part of that celebration will include bringing back some classic parties from the past! On Thursday July 25th, the CSPC will present Grind Reboot as a throwback party! An homage to Grind, which was a weekly club favorite during the Interbay days, this is the CSPC’s first weekday event held as a one-off to see how things go!

What will this party be like? What it says on the can: A Reboot of Grind, which turns our dungeon into a nightclub with music by professional DJs and lots of space to play. If you miss the classic Grind party, like it dark and loud, or want to dance and play in the same space, this event has it all! BDSM and sex are encouraged. Come celebrate our 25th Anniversary with this blast from the past!

There is no dress code enforced, but we encourage you to please dress for a night out. Fetishwear is welcome. If you would like to know more about how Grind was, check out my article on the subject HERE!

The Basics of Canes, Your Flexible Impact Toy! - Sir Panda

Level 1, BDSM, Canes, Impact

If your bottom loves a little sting — or a lot — caning is a great way to bring some zing to the scene. If you’re a bottom who loves stingy, you owe it to yourself to try a little caning!

We’ll present the basics of caning and scenes that integrate canes into your play as a creative option. You’ll learn about cane types, sizes, and materials; the flexibility of different selections; and how these options and the force applied affect the feel and pain level. We’ll cover different caning swings, beats, and rhythms — from a gentle tap, tap, tapping to an intense, agonizing strike.

Canes have their own mystique and are great for bondage and punishment scenes. Even a small, hidden cane can be brought out for a big flashy effect! Canes offer a sensual and stingy sauce all their own and unlike heavier thuds can be applied almost anywhere below the neck – depending on the size and flexibility of the cane, and the force used (let's be careful out there!). We’ll discuss cane care and safety, and how canes can be a sweet and tasty addition to your toy menu.

What to bring: (OPTIONAL) Bring your canes and bottoms if you have them.

Flogging Variations: Mild to Wild - Eirikah Delaunay

Level 1, BDSM, Flogging, Hands-On

In this experiential workshop, we will explore some of the many sensations and techniques for using this iconic toy. We'll cover basic anatomy for safety, then dive into the different kinds of sensation you can create by pairing a specific toy with a specific style of swing. A range of floggers will be available for exploration; please bring your flogger(s) if you have them. If you are willing to bottom for inexperienced Tops in a learning environment, please bring clothes for your own added protection.**Note: All partnered practice will require negotiation and mutual consent.

Impact Play (giving and receiving) - Mac McGregor

Featured Presenter, Level 2, BDSM, Hands-on, Impact

As a world champion fighter, we learn to give and take shots and how to maximize power when giving. This is the full circle of both sides of the coin in one class. You will learn tricks of the trade that fighters use to learn to take hits and keep going as well as how to conserve and maximize power when you are giving the impact. Each person will participate in learning both sides of the skills of the game of impact play. Come ready to sweat, learn and be empowered by knowledge and skill.

What to bring: Wear comfortable clothes that you can move freely in and tennis shoes.

Sweet, Seductive, and Serviceable: Dessert Topping 101 for Everybody! - Teeebone

Level 1, BDSM, Sensual, Topping

Have you ever heard of a Dessert Top? BDSM has been perceived as being rough, brutal, and painful, thanks to our dear friends in the media. So, let’s step away from that and approach this subject from a different angle, one that focuses on fun and sensual domination! In this workshop, we will explore the sensual side of BDSM and find out more about what being a Sweet Service Top is all about!

Often, we think of boundaries as rigid limits that keep us safe but might also prevent us from stretching into new experiences. Some of us — especially those of us who thrive on pleasing our partners — also feel super awkward about communicating our boundaries to others for fear that we will be perceived as rude or mean. In this workshop, we’ll practice feeling in our bodies the fluidity of our boundaries in a specific moment so that we will recognize that feeling as it arises in negotiations, in scenes, and other parts of our lives. We’ll also practice communicating boundaries lovingly so we can better invite people into truly connected, consensual relationships with us.

What to bring: Bring your toys and pervertables for a live demo and guided practice!

Dessert Topping 201 - Teeebone

Level 2, BDSM, Sensual, Topping

Come join Teeebone as he continues to wax poetic on the subject of sensual domination and the fine art of sweet service topping; Sometimes silly, sometimes serious, and even a little scary!

What to bring: Bring your toys and pervertables for a live demo and guided practice!

Whip it into Shape: Create your own dragon’s tongue pocket whip! - trinity

Level 1,  BDSM, Craft

Going beyond household pervertables and commercially available impact toys, making your own offers endless options. In this session, you’ll learn some basic paracord weaving skills to create a stingy dragon’s tongue pocket whip with a woven paracord handle and rubber whip end. This session will also cover safety considerations, materials and sourcing, additional learning resources, and examples of other DIY impact toys.

What to bring: All tools and supplies will be provided, but if you would like any particular color, please bring 25-50 feet of Type 550 paracord in the color of your choice.
