Frolic Presenter Bios: The Awesome Continues!

Sequentialized (Seq)

The Frolic’s featured presenter, Sequentialized or Seq (Pronounced "seek") uses they/she pronouns, with a preference for "they.” Seq identifies as an open-minded, neuroqueer, pansexual, polyamorous, nurturing top/dominant and edgeplayer living with chronic illness.

Seq first encountered the kink community in the late '90s after devouring the book Different Loving by Gloria Brame. Over the years, Seq has assisted both large and small events in a variety of roles. In their earlier years, Seq walked in and coordinated kink fashion shows, sometimes performing on stage as well. While living in NYC and Long Island, NY, Seq had private play spaces and studios, and hosted private events, allowing peers to make use of an extensive collection of props and equipment.

These days, Seq works with multiple nonprofit organizations to support strong consent culture both within and outside of our communities. Seq is a serial volunteer of sorts and you may encounter them hosting munches, developing/teaching consent curricula, moderating or offering community support at conferences, and advocating for the rights of alt-sex communities.

Seq’s interests include reading, travel, photography, adventuring, video mixing, performance art, and lending an ear or hand to those in need.

Frolic Stewardship Day: Date Change!

Stewardship Day 2 - Important Date Change!

Awesome CSPC Members!

Register for The Frolic stewardship day on the CSPC’s event page.

Date: Saturday, August 5

Time: 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Payment: free meal for you + jokes, smiles, and camaraderie

Our own Frolic Stewardship opportunity in Buckley at Grove Getaways will be Saturday, Aug 5 and they will feed us! I just need to tell them how many to expect so they have enough food to feed everyone.

I know, I know! So many events, so little time! It is well worth it! And they knocked quite a chunk of change off the rental fee if we'd do stewardship days, so please come out with some CSPC pride!

Please register on the stewardship day event page to receive all the necessary information!

This is outdoor work: cleaning, landscaping, building etc., to each person's capacity. Bring gloves, a water bottle, and wear "get dirty" clothes (not that kind, the other kind). The event starts around 9:30–10 a.m. Stay as long as you are able. Feel free to bring your own tools, but make sure they have your name on them.

These are amazing people and you are sure to have a good time. You will leave tired in body but reenergized in spirit!

Sign up today!

Thank you!

Frolic Presenter Bios: The Awesome Continues!

Hawk35 aka Nick

Nick is your average kinky person who has been around for longer than he likes to admit. His journey into kink started on the east coast in bars and basements doing what is now considered "western" bondage and flogger play. Over time, his interests expanded to include more shibari-influenced styles of bondage, blood play, needle play, CNC play, electro, and a wider range of impact. As he grew into his kink, he sought out educators who were skilled and credentialed (when possible) to learn from. He considers sharing the knowledge he's gathered a key part of giving back to his community. He has been a Board member and Board President of the CSPC, and is an educator, but always a student.

Skitty

Skitty (she/her) is a cis woman, pansexual, polyamorous, kinky submissive, living in Woodinville, Washington. A lifelong educator, Skitty began teaching special education in her country of origin, Canada, before moving to the United States. Several years ago, Skitty had the privilege to transition to full-time volunteering, mostly within the sex-positive community. Throughout her life, Skitty has utilized the power of education to increase understanding and compassion and to empower individuals and communities. She is passionate about negotiation and consent. She began talking about sex back in 1994 in her volunteer role as a safer sex and transmission reduction educator for the Kingston AIDS Project and continues to do so as the current Board President for the Center for Sex Positive Culture.

Meet Larry - Frolic Director!

The Frolic Director, Larry Grella

(as interviewed by Turtle)

Q: When did you join the community?

A: 2002 locally. Online maybe 30 years ago.

Q: What drew you to it (BDSM)?

A: I think I was born a pervert!

Q: How did you find the Wet Spot? [previous name of the CSPC]

A: I was doing online dating and someone told me about it.

Q: How have things changed over the years?

A: The Center was always inclusive, but after we were forced to leave Interbay, we worked really hard to become even more actively inclusive.

Q: But how does it feel different?

A: The thing I feel most is because of the current structure (renting space), we don't have the same sense of a community center that we used to have so I'm looking forward to a new building and getting that feeling back. We do what we can under the situation we have. [Note: the CSPC used to provide meeting space for numerous other community organizations.]

Q: Kinky camping the way we do seems to have a long history as a distinctly WA activity.

A: Maybe a year after I joined, I heard about two events: In The Woods and Paradise Unbound (CSPC.) I went to both and immediately started volunteering for both.

Q: Were they different from today's kinky camps?

A: Not a lot different from what we are doing now. Workshops and getting to know each other…except now there's probably more group activities…though we used to do things like lube wrestling.

Q: Any favorite memories?

A: I met a woman who became a lifelong friend. Made a lot of other friends. It's a great place to meet people from different areas. You have to bring your own creativity! <grin> I remember the time I stapled my girl to the stage. Fire play and eventually fire flogging. Group meals and the camaraderie. So many classes.

Q: Favorite acts from the Friday night Talent Shows?

A: Someone picked up traffic cones with her pussy! (We are still friends.) Fire performances! Ponies pulling carts! The hook pull and hook suspensions.

Q: Why did you decide to lead The Frolic 2023?

A: I wanted to help create a memorable event and wanted to expand it.

Q: Anything special you are looking forward to this year?

A: I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of happy people! I'm excited to see the creativity of the participants and what they come up with!

Q: You usually teach Fire. This year you are teaching canes. Why?

A: Because we had other options for fire presenters. I wanted our members to see other perspectives and how they ply their trade.

Q: How long have you been doing canes?

A: I've been doing them so long that I don't remember when I started exactly.

Q: Canes for Pleasure and Pain. Which do you prefer giving? Pleasure? Or pain?

A: It's really hard to separate the two. I really like sending somebody into subspace!
