Broaden Your Mind

Other Community Events to Enjoy!

The CSPC throws amazing parties and hosts many important discussions on various topics. But luckily, we live in a place where there are many more options to dive into sex- and body-positive culture. The list below is just a sampling of some great events coming up in the next month.

We include non-CSPC events in every issue. If you have an event suggestion or feedback from a past event you’ve attended, please email Marissa at newsletter@thecspc.org and it might make it into our next issue!

Editor’s note for all events*

As a reminder, these are non-CSPC events. We include them as a way to open your mind to other experiences, but we have no control over them, their content, or their missions. We encourage you to vet other organizations to see if they are places you would feel comfortable, and we appreciate feedback if we have listed an organization/event that does not appear to share CSPC values.

August 15–16, 19, 22–23

Acrobatic Conundrum | Trustfall (free | in person)

A half score of daring acrobats trip the light fantastic, dancing horizontally, stacking themselves precariously to the skies, and spinning with eye popping velocity. Through acrobatics and aerial movement the show asks a question at the heart of every community: who's got me? For anyone who has ever wished, quietly or loudly, for someone to break their fall. Don’t miss the tenth installment of Acrobatic Conundrum’s ensemble cabaret this summer!

August 21

The Beacon Cinema | SECS Fest Presents Nights in Black Leather ($15 | in person)

An underground classic that helped define the golden age of gay erotic cinema! Eternal self-made gay sex symbol Peter Berlin makes his screen debut as a German immigrant who gets into all sorts of adventures on a trip to San Francisco in this classic from one-and-done filmmaker Ignatio Rutkowski. The closest a gay adult film ever got to the style of Paul Morrissey and Andy Warhol, NIGHTS IN BLACK LEATHER captures the raw, untamed spirit of pre-AIDS queer liberation—equal parts art film, road movie, and unapologetic celebration of desire.

August 27–29

Theatre Off Jackson | The Rootin’ Tootin’ Queer Cowboy Cabaret ($24+ | in person)

The Immersive queer cowboy cabaret show and party is back this August with Rootin’ Tootin’ 2: Pirates vs. Cowboy. You’ll see some familiar faces, new crushes, and the same promise to give our audiences a delightful and queer evening full of camp and community. The Rootin‘ Tootin’ is the hottest place to drink and dance but when Pirates wash up and threaten this beloved watering hole: the gang has to pull together to put on the best show of their lives and save their saloon!

September 1

Kink Center | M/s and Play: Power in Practice (free | in person)

This class explores how psychological and physical play intersects with authority transfer, whether contained to scenes or woven into daily life. We’ll examine intention, negotiation, and the ways power and authority show up in both erotic and non-erotic contexts. Participants will be invited to think critically about why they play, how it connects to their dynamic, and how to align play with the values and structure of their relationship.

September 5

Pride Across the Bridge | Grounded in Community (free | in person)

Over the past 4 years Redmond Pride has blossomed from a small community-needed gathering into one of the Eastside’s most joyful and highly anticipated community-driven celebrations. We’re excited to share that our 2026 Pride celebration will take place in Kirkland on September 5, 2026 12:00-5:00pm, and share the name Pride Across the Bridge! This beautiful location will allow us to host more vendors, artists, while staying true to our values and Eastside roots. Our vision for Pride has always been to create an accessible, affirming space, By and For our queer community.
