Broaden Your Mind - 10.15.26

Other Community Events to Enjoy!

The CSPC throws amazing parties and hosts many important discussions on various topics. But luckily, we live in a place where there are many more options to dive into sex- and body-positive culture. The list below is just a sampling of some great events coming up in the next month.

We include non-CSPC events in every issue. If you have an event suggestion or feedback from a past event you’ve attended, please email Marissa at newsletter@thecspc.org and it might make it into our next issue!

Editor’s note for all events*
As a reminder, these are non-CSPC events. We include them as a way to open your mind to other experiences, but we have no control over them, their content, or their missions. We encourage you to vet other organizations to see if they are places you would feel comfortable, and we appreciate feedback if we have listed an organization/event that does not appear to share CSPC values.

October 15–18
NW Film Forum | Seattle Trans Underground Film Festival ($7+ | in person)

Seattle Trans Underground Film Festival is a film festival by and for trans people. The purpose of the festival is to support trans film and its production by connecting trans filmmakers to their audiences, and to celebrate trans lives by showing our stories through film. We program films by and about trans people across all genres, continuing a twenty-year history of annual transgender film festivals in Seattle. Everyone is required to wear a mask (preferably KN95 or better) when not actively eating or drinking at all STUFF screenings.

October 23
The Beacon Cinema | SECS Fest Presents Driller ($15 | in person)

An X-rated horror musical inspired by Michael Jackson’s THRILLER, starring Taija Rae and a pop superstar named Mr. J. DRILLER could only have happened in 1984—and even then, somebody really had to want to make it. Taija Rae plays Louise, an obsessed fan whose fascination with Mr. J carries her from a pop concert into a handmade Gothic nightmare. What begins as an unmistakable riff on Jackson and John Landis gradually wanders deeper into horror-movie territory, with original songs, choreography, transformation effects and smoky monster-movie atmosphere assembled with the resources and ingenuity of an independent adult production.

October 25

Kink Center | Pony Tack Craft Night (free | in person)

Ponies and handlers, please join us to socialize, work on DIY ponyplay gear, and share tack ideas! This event is for anyone with an interest in ponyplay and making tack, no matter your level of experience. You can use this as an opportunity to make progress on your existing projects, or you can join our craft-along. Each month, someone in our herd will offer guidance in making a different piece of tack.
